Sofia Coppola 'So Proud' as Daughter Romy Mars Debuts with 2 Songs!

Romy Mars' songbird phase has begun. The 17-year-old daughter of Sofia Coppola and Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars released “Stuck Up” and “From a Distance” on Wednesday, May 22, to launch her music career.

The teen singer's debut bedroom-pop tracks, written by Romy and produced by Claud, feature her soft-spoken vocals and honest lyrics about a summer romance gone wrong.

In “Stuck Up,” she sings, “Is this like a dream or a nightmare / But I'm stuck in a haze / On or ahead and I can't find your face,” channeling teenage angst

On “From a Distance,” Romy sings with greater attitude, “Always gonna be somebody else you're f---ing seeing / Always gonna be stuck in these eyes I keep believing.”

Coppola posted a snapshot of her daughter on Instagram with the remark, “So proud of Romy’s first 2 songs out today!”

The Oscar-winning Lost in Translation filmmaker thanked Claud for producing Romy's two-song EP, Stuck Up, before directing fans to her “link in bio.”

Romy's pop career launch comes over a year after the then-16-year-old went viral after appearing on TikTok to disclose that she was grounded for trying to charter a helicopter from New York to Maryland on her dad's credit card to have dinner with a “camp friend.”

The teen pop artist quietly debuted at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 17 for the world premiere of her grandfather Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis sci-fi film, starring Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Laurence Fishburne, and others.
