Simone Biles addresses online criticism of husband Jonathan Owen

Simone Biles took to Instagram to respond to critics of her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, whose statements about not knowing who Biles was previous to dating sparked uproar months ago.

"I'll immediately answer this: the joke was never a joke! "Y'all are blatantly disrespectful to my relationship and my husband," Biles wrote on Sunday.

"If you keep commenting or tweeting at me, I'll just block you." "Simple as that," the message continued. "And no I don't need to touch grass or whatever tf y'all suggest…

"She concluded her post by expressing gratitude to her and Owens' fans. "@ everyone else that supports us, we love y'all so much."

The post comes after Biles won the Core Hydration Classic on Sunday, earning the highest score ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer.

Following the triumph, Biles uploaded an Instagram photo of herself kissing Owens with the message "my whole heart, the best supporter, I couldn't ask for a better husband."

Despite some supportive comments, several commentators made light of the controversy and Owens.

The allegations Biles leveled in her article arose from a December podcast session in which Owens admitted that he "didn't know" who Biles was when she first messaged him on the dating app Raya in 2020.
