Kevin Costner brings 5 of his kids on work trip, but they ditch him: ‘We came to France to be as a family’

Kevin Costner graced the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for his new western "Horizon: An American Saga" last weekend, accompanied by five special dates: his five children, ages 13 to 40.

"I wanted them to witness my work. I purchased them tuxedos and dresses," Costner, 69, told Jimmy Kimmel this week about bringing Grace, 13, Hayes, 15, Cayden, 17, Lily, 37, and Annie, 40, with him on his business vacation to the French Riviera.

The "Yellowstone" star's other two children, Joe, 36, and Liam, 26, did not accompany him.

Costner has three children with his first wife Cindy Silva: Lily, Annie, and Joe; Liam with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Rooney; and Grace, Hayes, and Cayden with his second wife Christine Baumgartner, from whom he divorced in February.

The 69-year-old joked to Kimmel that he had hoped his children "would stick with me and support me" on the abroad trip, but "the minute they arrived, my two sons went fishing, grabbed a boat, and went fishing.

My girls ended up on a boat and said they'd see me at 3 or 4 p.m., when I was working and then making a phone call, and they were drinking at the time.

"They arrived around 8 p.m.He claimed he told his children, "We came to France to be a family,' and they said, 'It's working beautifully, Dad.

What should we do next? I replied, 'I don't know. We need a tour director to figure this out."
