Jelly Roll Shares the Thing He Regrets Most About His Career Blowing Up Amid Father-in-Law’s Death

Jelly Roll's career has taken off since he released his debut country album, Whitsitt Chapel, last year. Since then, he has won prizes, pushed tracks to the top of the charts, and performed in front of the largest audiences he has ever seen.

While all of this sounds wonderful, it also separates him from his family. When his father-in-law died earlier this month, the negative aspects of his work became more apparent.

Bunnie Xo used social media to express her grief over her father's death. "Hey, Bill. I'll miss you. You're still my favorite rock star and hero. "This one will hurt," she added in the post. "Rest easy, and don't make too many angels fall in love," she said.

Bunnie Xo's father had a lengthy struggle with cancer. Even after entering hospice, he fought the disease. Unfortunately, he lost the battle earlier this month.

In a recent interview, Jelly Roll discussed his death and revealed what he regrets the most after losing his father-in-law.

"It's kind of one of those things where it was a sad ending to a book that wasn't already incredible," he remarked of Bill's death during an interview with Taste of Country Nights.

"She's hurt," he stated of Bunnie. "Her and her father did not have a good relationship throughout her life. "They didn't start getting too cool until she was in her 30s, and even then, it was very tumultuous," he admitted.

Jelly Roll has seen his wife and father-in-law's relationship develop in recent years. He even grew fond of Bill. That made it more difficult for both of them when he passed away.
