Taylor Swift Could Stop Billie Eilish From Making No. 1 Album As Fan Rivalry Grows

Billie Eilish's latest album, “Hit Me Hard And Soft,” will compete with Taylor Swift's “The Tortured Poets Department” for the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week.

Both artists have released additional versions of their albums to boost sales amid a fan-driven rivalry.

Eilish released “Hit Me Hard And Soft” on Friday, while Taylor Swift's “The Tortured Poets Department” is looking for a fifth week at No. 1.

Fans of Eilish were surprised when Swift released fresh editions of “The Tortured Poets Department” last week with demo versions of three tracks for sale just on May 16 and 17 (Eilish's release date).

Days later, Eilish released a vocal-only version of “Hit Me Hard And Soft” without instrumentation.

Tuesday saw Swift remix her album's greatest song, “Fortnight” with Post Malone.

All 10 songs from Eilish's new album are in the top 25 on the U.S. Spotify daily chart, compared to Swift's three.

Due to the release of her new album, Hits Daily Double predicts that Swift will top the Billboard 200 with 350,000 album units and Eilish will launch at No. 2 with 300,000.
