‘Stranger Things’: What We Know About the Final Season

Stranger Things season five was set to release in early 2025, according to star Finn Wolfhard. In a GQ video, the actor stated that he will be 22 when season five premieres on Netflix. 

The targeted date corresponded to what the Duffer brothers stated in 2022 about the period between seasons four and five being significantly shorter than the break

 between seasons three and four since they did not anticipate another six-month delay like the one caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.

production was originally scheduled for this summer, but when the writers' strike was declared in May, the Duffer brothers resorted to social media to say that, while they had completed the rough screenplays 

for season five, "writing does not stop when filming begins." They went on, "While we're delighted to begin production with our incredible cast and crew, it's not possible during this strike. 

We hope that a fair agreement is achieved quickly so that we can all return to work. "Until then, over and out."

Two months later, SAG-AFTRA called an actors' strike, significantly delaying the start of filming on season five. Once the actors' strike ended (the WGA has since negotiated an agreement) 

On January 8, Netflix confirmed that season five had officially commenced filming, along with a shot of the returning actors and Ross and Matt Duffer
