Source: LeBron James to stay with Lakers for $104M.

ESPN sources said Wednesday that LeBron James has signed a two-year, $104 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers that includes a 2025-26 player option and a no-trade clause.

James returns for his 22nd NBA season on a one-plus-one agreement that lets him evaluate his Lakers and NBA future next summer.

James is one of two NBA players with no-trade clauses, along with Bradley Beal.

The Lakers' maximum $104 million deal would put them $1 million over the league's new punitive salary second apron and drastically limit their roster flexibility.

According to reports, James' agent Rich Paul, Klutch Sports CEO, will speak with Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka the prospect of taking $1 million below the maximum to keep Los Angeles under the $188.9 million second apron.

A league source tells ESPN's Dave McMenamin that the Lakers signed Bronny James Jr., the 55th pick in this year's draft, to his rookie contract Wednesday.

The source said he signed a four-year, $7.9 million contract with a fourth-year team option.

Bronny James will join his father on the Lakers, where they could be the first father-son NBA duo.
