Shia LaBeouf’s new film debuts with terrible score on Rotten Tomatoe

At Cannes Film Festival, Shia LaBeouf and Adam Driver's Megalopolis received terrible reviews and a tragically low score.

In a hypothetical modern-day New York, architect Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver) wants to establish a utopia, but Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito) opposes him.

The ‘Roman Epic fable’ by Francis Ford Coppola has been in production since the 1980s.

At Cannes Film Festival, Coppola's $120million (£94million) passion project premiered.

After forty years, the crass, vulgar, incestuous, and fast-paced extravaganza appears imperfect.

Festival reports said the film earned a seven-minute standing ovation amid applause and booing.

It started at 38% on Rotten Tomatoes and progressively rose to a disputed 50% at the time of writing.

A disappointing score for a picture starring LaBeouf, Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Jon Voight, and Dustin Hoffman.
