Fort Lauderdale- On a Florida warrant, Southern California police arrested singer Kisean Anderson, aka Sean Kingston, on multiple fraud and larceny allegations Thursday.
His arrest followed a raid at his South Florida home earlier in the day that also arrested his mother.
Kingston, arrested in Fort Irwin, California, will be put into jail in San Bernardino, 60 miles east of Los Angeles, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
Kingston's mother was arrested on fraud charges Thursday at the artist's Southwest Ranches home in Broward County, 22 miles northwest of Miami.
CBS News Miami's Chopper 4 saw multiple policemen and the Broward Sheriff's Office mobile command center at the property.
Court documents from February 2024 show the Jamaican-American musician lives there. County documents show a limited liability company owns the home.
After an investigation in Dania Beach, BSO's Dania Beach District deputies, Strategic Investigations Unit, and Davie Police SWAT served arrest and search warrants at the property.
Kingston's mother, Janice Turner, 61, was arrested for fraud and theft. The investigation continues.
