Randy Travis celebrated for legendary career after health struggles: 'What country music is all about'

One of the most iconic figures in country music, Randy Travis is getting the country music community behind him  

their efforts to honor him and raise awareness about a health crisis that had a profound impact on his life.  

At an event titled "A Heroes and Friends Tribute to Randy Travis," Travis will be recognized for his popular songs such  

as "Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart," "Deeper Than the Holler," and "Forever and Ever, Amen."   

In an interview with Fox News Digital, the singer discussed his legendary career with the assistance of his wife, Mary, in the lead-up to the October show.  

It means "a lot" to Randy, who has limited speech due to aphasia, that so many country singers are uniting to honor his career  

Randy survived a devastating stroke in 2013 and is still dealing with the effects.  

When asked to elaborate, Mary said, "It means a lot to him," as she often speaks on her husband's behalf.
