How Powerful Is Taylor Swift's Political Endorsement? What New Poll Show

Taylor Swift could persuade President Joe Biden's followers to vote Republican in November, according to an exclusive Newsweek poll.

According to a May study done by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek, 22% of people who supported

Biden in the 2020 election said they would be more likely to vote for a GOP candidate if Swift endorsed them.

The poll, which was conducted on May 1 among 1,500 eligible voters, indicates a nine-point increase from January,

when only 13% of Biden 2020 backers indicated they would be more likely to vote for a Republican candidate supported by Swift.

The singer-songwriter's popularity appears to be growing among Trump fans as well, albeit less than among Biden backers.

In January, 13% of Trump 2020 voters said they'd be more likely to vote for a Democrat candidate supported by Swift. This month, the figure increased to 16 percent.

The margin of error for both the May and January polls was +/- 2.53%. The January survey was conducted on January 18 among 1,500 eligible voters.

Swift's popularity has risen over the last year. She was chosen Time magazine's "Person of the Year" for 2023, and her hugely successful Eras tour became the first to gross a billion dollars.
