The first look image for The Smashing Machine has been revealed, and Dwayne Johnson looks completely different in his character.
The Rock stars in the biographical sports drama, directed by Benny Safdie, as Mark Kerr, a former wrestler and mixed martial artist who battled addiction throughout his career
The first shot from the upcoming film was published by distributor A24, showing Johnson in character as he relaxes in the corner of the ring.
Emily Blunt, who plays Mark's girlfriend Dawn Staples, can be seen at the bottom of the photograph, outside the ring.
Though Johnson is acquainted to the fighting ring due to his work with the WWE, the actor appears unrecognizable in the role, with one fan noting on X/Twitter:
Didn't even recognize him and Emily Blunt looks like she time traveled in 2006."

until this comes out," said another fan, while one perplexed user inquired, "Which is the rock?"
While The Smashing Machine will not be released for some time, Johnson will be heard in the upcoming Moana 2, where he will reprise his role as Maui opposite Auli'i Cravalho, who plays the eponymous character.
